This project develops a typeface system in which each letter is composed of both uppercase and lowercase forms, coexisting within a single glyph. This challenges the conventional understanding of type as a fixed, singular form, and instead proposes a structure based on overlap and relationship. It also reflects a broader understanding of education as a continuous process: individuals are formed from early childhood and evolve over time, moving from small to large and back to a holistic system. Aspirational Kindergarten emphasizes a non-standardized and individualized approach to education, where learning is not a one-way transmission but a collaborative process involving children, parents, and teachers. The curriculum adapts to individual differences and extends from the classroom into the home, forming an open and interconnected community structure.

In visual terms, this project translates that structure into typographic language. Rather than relying on complex visual effects, the design focuses on fundamental relationships—coexistence of case, variation in spacing, and positional differences. Lowercase letters are intentionally positioned in varying ways within the layout, creating vertical shifts and a sense of uneven rhythm. This produces a natural sense of fluctuation, not through motion, but through carefully arranged static conditions. The project was developed within a basic text editor, where each letter exists as an independent unit. The overall system emerges from the arrangement of these units, shifting attention from visual effects to underlying structure, and positioning typography as a method of organizing relationships—between letters, text, and people.

This approach departs from traditional graphic design methods that rely on static composition and fixed grids, moving instead toward a system-based logic in which form is generated through rules and constraints. The color palette is limited to black, white, and grayscale, emphasizing structure over decoration and allowing the typographic system itself to carry the primary visual and conceptual weight. The system extends into the kindergarten environment, appearing across various media and contexts while maintaining consistency within an adaptable framework.

Ultimately, the project frames design as a system rather than an image. It emphasizes structure, relationships, and repetition as a means of generating order, integrating typography with educational principles, and proposing that both design and education are not about delivering fixed outcomes, but about creating systems that continuously evolve, expand, and transform.
